Five Acres Animal Shelter is attempting to reach a goal of $10,000 for Shadow's Fund. Shadow's Fund provides life saving care for animals in need of extensive veterinary care. Shadow's Fund is Five Acres Animal Shelter's special needs program and supports many dogs and cats with lifetime diseases, injuries, temporary illnesses, special diets and more. Five Acres is the only no-kill shelter in St. Charles County. We believe in giving animals second chances, especially those that otherwise would not be given a chance at many other shelters because of their special needs. We are unique because we care for felines that are FIV+ and FeLV+ and also treat dogs with heartworm disease. Finding homes for these animals can be very rewarding but can also lead to high veterinary costs. This is why we ask for continued support from the community to help us continue our mission and save the lives of homeless cats and dogs.
At this time we have several animals that have begun treatment for a variety of reasons or will require upcoming care. Donate to whichever cute face catches your attention most, but all funds will assist our many special needs cats and dogs that are relying on your donation for their care.
When we reach our goal of $10,000 some staff and board members have agreed to camp out like a shelter pet for one night at Five Acres.
