Kelly Neptune's 2014 NYC Marathon for Fred's Team
Organized by: Kelly Neptune
Fred’s Team is an athletic fundraising proram dedicated to bringing us all one step closer to a world without cancer. The program supports cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), and over $54 million has been raised since 1995.
Who is Fred?
“In running, it doesn't matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, 'I have finished.' There is a lot of satisfaction in that.” —Fred Lebow
His passion for running energized an entire nation. He founded the New York City Marathon, which now attracts over 45,000 runners from all over the world. He continued to run as means to fight back against his cancer diagnosis.
His inspiration remains evident today, as thousands of people continue to run miles and miles to raise millions of dollars to help fund cancer research.
I am running my second marathon and this year want to run to help make a difference. My goal is to raise as much money as I can for MSK’s doctors, researchers, patients and their loved ones, who believe in a world without cancer.
