Keep Lee in Her Home
Organized by: m d
Lee is in danger of losing her home and needs your help. In 2013, after mounting health issues including a diagnosis of cancer cell activity, internal abdominal bleeding, two types of anemia, severe asthma, and so much more, she was forced to retire after almost 26 years with the same employer.
Unfortunately because she wasn't yet 62 and hadn't been with the organization for 30 years, her worked for benefits were slashed by nearly 40%. Struggling to make ends meet and with uncovered out of pocket medical expenses, she's now in danger of losing her home, her refuge in life's journey.
Single, with no spouse or children, she thinks back over a lifetime of service and volunteerism from going door to door collecting for a telethon, singing and delivering care packages at the county nursing home, working bake sales, participating in walkathons, staffing phone banks, working letter writing campaigns, and donating pet food and cat litter to animal rescue groups.
Lee asks for your help in getting through this new and heart-breaking challenge so she can continue forward to work on coping with her health issues and still contribute to the larger community of humanity. Please help keep her in her home. She humbly thanks you for any help you could provide. Thank you!
