As a child, my family and I would always go to the Salvation Army and shop. They always had thrift stores. What was a treasure to us always ended up being a blessing to somebody that had even less than us. That spirit of giving stayed with me. Today, my husband Frank and I have had a long association with the Salvation Army. We’ve witnessed a lot of their powerful work through the years and one my favorite efforts is the “Salvation Army Red Box Campaign,” which provides an assortment of gifts and food for families in need. It’s like “Christmas in a Box,” because for many families this campaign is their only experience of receiving a gift at Christmas.
Your donation can brighten up the holidays for our neighbors in need. In fact, that’s why I decided to write a book called, “Good Gifts: One Year in the Heart of a Home,” which is to help spread the word about faith and family, with beautiful pictures of my home and foundation. The very first page of the book includes scripture from the Book of James in the New Testament. It says, "Every good and perfect gift comes from above, streaming down from the Father in the heavenly realms who does not change like shifting shadows." The proceeds of my book go towards paying for the Red Box Campaign and I ask you to help me in this effort.
So please help me make a real difference this season for our neighbors who need it so much.
God bless you and Merry Christmas to all. – Kathie Lee
