March 03, 2016
EVENT DATE Jul 10, 2017
My name is Karisma Nori Kulkarni. I am a first-year student at the University of Washington. I strive to become a Pediatrician with an emphasis in Neurosciences. I am participating in the 2017 USA National Miss scholarship pageant in Boca Raton, FL from July 10th-15th, 2017.
This is a great opportunity for me to gain an educational scholarship, apply my title to promote my platform and encourage young women, like myself, to break barriers. I plan to use my UNM title to educate elementary school children about anti-bullying through the Crown CARES program supported by the organization as well as ones close to my heart about eradicating the stigma of mental health disorders, pediatric illness, and promoting education and empowerment of women and children in our national and developing countries. I am honored to be a part of UNM family!
My mother is disabled. She suffers from “invisible” debilitating health issues. Her plight strengthened my commitment to becoming a medical doctor. I want to study Pediatric Medicine and International Relations for research, treatment and advocating about illnesses – visible and invisible – plaguing millions worldwide. I want to make a difference in the course of healthcare lobbying the Government, Community Outreach programs, and working with Doctors without Borders and the United Nations (U.N).
To realize my goal of becoming a Pediatrician, I have to tread a long and expensive journey. I am determined to overcome obstacles through persistence in my efforts, hard work in maintaining my grades, excellence in leadership, volunteering efforts, and being a productive and responsible citizen. I am voting in the 2016 elections.
The initial investment in pageants is expensive. But, the Return on Investment (ROI), is worth the underwriting. I am seeking community support, from incredible people like yourself, for financial and in-kind sponsorships to help me participate in scholarship pageants. Your contribution is an invaluable investment in future medical doctors like me. In this uncertain economic time, students like me count on your support – now more than ever! Please consider making as generous a financial gift as you can.
Please accept my deepest gratitude for your help and support.
