Fuck Cancer. Two little words have changed my life.
I've been a Cancer Fucker for one beautiful year and every day I am reminded of what this movement means to our community. I am also constantly reminded of how lucky I am to be on a courageous team devoted to providing a safe space for people to share experiences and provide heartfelt support.
We have accomplished so much this year. We've built a new website filled with educational resources for caregivers and patients alike. We have pumped out three amazing activation campaigns: Touching Ourselves! with Funny or Die; Touch Yourself with Women's and Men's Health magazines; and our own annual risk factors and warnings signs campaign, Fucktember. Fuck Cancer is hitting our stride; we have so much in store for 2013. We're planning to build a host of tools that our community has been asking for. Tools that will help them through some of the toughest days of their lives.
For those of you who don't know, the team draws a tear on our chalk walls everytime I cry. A row of droplets are marked above my desk. I don't cry because I'm saddened, I cry because I am amazed by our community's tenacity. I am often overwhelmed when I read the support, advice and guidance shared within our community. Our people are beautiful.
I am so proud to be a part of the FC community. I am proud to be part of a movement that enables humans to be raw and authentic about their experiences with cancer.
Now, Fuck Cancer needs your help to keep building. No amount is too big or too small. Please help us to continue supporting and building for our community in 2013. I'm asking you from the bottom of my heart. Please, donate to help us win 2013's Firefox challenge.
