I stood transfixed as the television showed scenes of the horrible tragedy at the 2013 Boston Marathon. This was beyond belief, as it was one of the major events in Boston for my entire family. I had stood with my family at Newton Wellesley Hospital, Framingham Center and other spots along the route since I was a child. At one point, I remember standing with my grandmother at Coolidge Corner cheering for Johnny Kelley. My Mom and Dad had inspired us all as young athletes to watch as these dedicated runners pushed themselves to the limit. Family members and friends have run unofficially through the years, and now it is my time to step forward and to run the Boston Marathon. But who would I run for? My Dad and several family members have battled cancer, so it was with that in mind that I started this web site. A chance to remember the victims and their families of April 15, 2013 and those families battling with cancer.
