Mickey and I are hitting the trails again! I must be a glutton for punishment, because I'm doing Rock the Ridge again this year. This time I'm doing a relay with 3 other slightly crazy people.
I'm doing this again for good reason - to give underserved kids the opportunity to get out into nature. This past autumn, I had the great pleasure of guiding my two nieces up Bonticou Crag. It was their first time rock scrambling and they loved it. My nieces are the lucky ones - my sister and brother-in-law take them camping all the time. But too many kids don't have the same opportunites as they do.
I was also extremely fortunate to have this opprotunity growing up, but many are not, especially underserved kids in our community. The money you donate to my Rock the Ridge journey will support environmental education programs at Mohonk Preserve and will allow all kids - no matter where they come from - the same opportunity to learn in nature that my nieces have.
Thanks for your support!!!
