In June of 2014, the Hollister family was blind-sided. After suffering a brain seizure while driving home from work, Jim underwent tests which uncovered an inoperable and malignant brain tumor. Jim has received excellent care at Johns Hopkins, however, prior to receiving radiation and chemotherapy, the tumor spread to other areas of his brain causing a permanent loss in his left field of vision and other cognitive and physical problems.
Jim is continuing to fight valiantly, with the amazingly positive attitude that embodies Jim. Unfortunately, due to his inability to work (LTD only covers 60% of one's wages), his wife's reduced work schedule in order to care for Jim, medical expenses, transport (gas, parking, etc.) to Hopkins, the financial impact is being heavily felt by the family. In addition, as of June 2015, Jim will have to move over to Cobra, which will add to the financial impact assailing his family.
Jim and his beautiful wife, Anne Marie, have three wonderful children (all in college) and are two of the kindest and warmest people one could ever meet. Jim always has a smile, a laugh and a helping hand for everyone around him. No matter what life may be dishing up for him, his first concerns are always for how those around him are doing. No amount of adversity ever stops him from trying to lend a helping hand, or at the very least a patient ear and wise advise.
Given the storm the Hollister Family is currently weathering - let's provide as much shelter as possible! Please assist by donating to Jim's fund and helping them cover some of the mounting expenses.
