BENEFITING: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
I turn 35 on December 28th, and all I want for my birthday is a cure for cancer.
Not too much to ask for right?
Three years ago my sister and I raised over $7,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society via Team in Training. We ran our first marathons at Walt Disney World in memory of our mother who passed away from Lymphoma in January of 1984, a few weeks after her 36th birthday.
In lieu of birthday gifts, this year I'd like to raise money again to help further blood cancer research. Over one million people are currently living with or are in remission from a blood cancer. A non-profit, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has raised over $875 million, $64 million in 2012 alone. 75% of their expenses directly support research, education, advocacy, and patient services.
Please consider donating to this worthy cause in memory of my mother Eileen, and in honor of me actually making it to "middle age!"
And remember: Every time you donate to charity, God saves a blind, three legged kitten, (or something like that).
