February 27, 2016 is Vinland Center’s 7th annual Winter Walkabout. This is our main fundraiser of the year. The fundraiser goal for this year is $50,000! This money goes towards helping people with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI); into research for new programming and meeting the goal of helping people affected by traumatic brain injuries to get back to functioning as well as they can and get them back to full and productive lives. By now, most of you know that my brother Ricky suffered a brain injury at a very young age and because of that, he never lived a normal life. We went to visit him each Sunday in the home he lived in, in Grafton, ND until he died at age 17. He was a special guy who left us way too young. It was incredibly hard on Mom and Dad and our family, especially some of my older siblings. Ricky’s brain injury is one of the reasons I joined the great team at Vinland to work in rehab with TBI sufferers. Every day is SUPER rewarding. The work of all employees at Vinland really does make a difference in people’s lives each day. Julie and I have a fundraising page set up. If you feel you could make a small donation it would be so appreciated!! Every dollar can make a difference.
