WE ARE RAISING FUNDS TO PROVIDE SCHOOLING FOR 30 CHILDREN IN JAIPUR, INDIA, WHO WOULD OTHERWISE HAVE NO ACCESS TO FORMAL EDUCATION.

Founded in 2013 and incorporated as a 501(c)3 in 2015, the Jaipur Education Project is launching its first broad appeal for donations.

The Indian state of Rajasthan, where Jaipur is located, is impacted by one of the lowest literacy rates in all of India. With no public school access, the only chance many children have for education and a better life is to attend a private school.

Our organization works directly with two schools to educate children at the cost of $180 per student per year (less than a dollar a day).

With literacy comes higher wages, better family planning and parenting skills, and a significantly better quality of life.

Jean Hunt initially enrolled 10 children in school in 2012 and returned in 2013 to Jaipur with her friend Robin Gurin, and proceeded to enroll another 20 students. Later that year, back in New York, Moira Curtain and Jamie Leo came on board and the project formally began.
