BENEFITING: ANIMAL WELFARE SOCIETY INC
EVENT DATE: Sep 11, 2016
Come see Lillie Mae 2 years after we adopted her. Lillie Mae a rescue from Georgia is excited about struting her stuff.I am sure we will be entertained with her puppy wit. Lillie and I are grateful for AWS! They save many animals each year otherwise I wouldn't have JackFrost or Lillie.
AWS has the most generous, patient and gentle souled people volunteering, sponsoring, working, training and organising these fund raisers.I am proud of all their efforts. Their love comes in leaps and bounds making sure each animal is well cared for. AWS has their own spay and neutering clinic, and wonderful community events all year long.Stop bye and see what they have brewing.
The money raised during the strut goes to all the animals at the shelter ;cats, dogs, rabbits you name it they all benefit. I have adopted other pets from the shelter and AWS gave them all medical care and love to ensure a healthy transition.
I love doing this ! It warms my heart and makes me want to help more. It is so much fun and the people are as giving and wonderful and funny. Come see us on Sunday come rain or shine. Thank you so much for looking at my page and making a donation. Every dollar counts.
Story behind the Sadie fund.
Named after a special dog who warmed the hearts of our shelter staff, the Sadie Fund is our dedicated medical care fund for shelter animals. The fund covers a wide variety of veterinary expenses, from antibiotics to major surgery, and everything in between. The Animal Welfare Society spends approximately $150,000 annually on medical care for pets that need it, so the Sadie Fund is crucial to making pets healthy, happy and ready for adoption.
Surrendered by her owner who could not afford to properly care for her health problems, Sadie arrived at AWS with a severe skin allergy, Lyme disease, and kidney failure. In spite of her many medical issues, it was obvious to our staff that this little 8-year-old Shih Tzu had a huge heart, tons of charisma, and a keen zest for life. She quickly charmed the entire AWS staff. After a long, happy life in her adoptive home she passed away at the age of 16 in 2008. To honor her legacy, we named our medical care fund in her memory.
A donation to the Sadie Fund will directly help to pay for medical care to save more special homeless animals like Sadie.
