Inspired by “Izzy Warrior Princess” Rita’s ongoing battle with a spinal cord tumor since she was diagnosed at 12 months old, our co-founders (Izzy’s parents) created Izzy’s Infantry in hopes that someday no child will endure what Izzy has endured: surgeries, countless hospital stays, and 42 rounds of chemotherapy that took two years of her childhood away. While Izzy’s tumor remains stable, she continues various treatment and procedures to address issues with her spine caused by her first surgery and the portion of the tumor that remains.
Izzy’s strength, perseverance, and grace through all she’s been through has galvanized those who know her to join Izzy’s Infantry in the fight against pediatric cancer.
Through fundraising and various programs, Izzy’s Infantry, a 501(c)3, aims to provide strength and hope for children undergoing cancer treatment and their families by:
- Funding research that will lead to better treatment options and a cure for childhood cancer;
- Funding rehabilitations programs for children recovering from spinal cord injury;
- Improving the quality of life for children in treatment and their families through outreach programs and support.
