BENEFITING: Alzheimer's Association
EVENT: HFC U 2017
EVENT DATE: Mar 24, 2017
My grandmother, Kennita McGeath, was a vibrant woman in every sense of the word. She was a teacher that guided her students with energy and enthusiasm. She was a painter and a gardener who guided bright and striking color into the world. She was a mother and a grandmother who filled every nook and cranny of our family with all of the love that she could muster. She was a force to be reckoned with and someone that I will always hold in the highest regard. Alzheimer’s disease invaded her life, stealing away her memories, her autonomy, and her sense of self. She passed away in August of 2016.
In honor of my grandmother, I am participating in Indiana University’s branch of Hilarity for Charity, Seth Rogen’s fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association. The money raised will be directed toward funding cutting edge Alzheimer’s prevention research, supporting families struggling with Alzheimer’s care, and raising public awareness about the disease.
Please help us create positive change and contribute to the fight against Alzheimer’s- you can help us secure a future full of memories that will not know the threat of Alzheimer’s disease.
