Hey friends!!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

This coming January I will be traveling to El Salvador for two weeks with 11 other students from Fordham University as part of our Global Outreach program (GO!). The application process for this trip was selective and competitive, so I was very honored to be chosen to go to El Salvador this winter!

Here are just some examples of what I will be doing once I get to El Salvador:

Work with CRISPAZ (Christians for Peace in El Salvador), an organization that has done tremendous work in El Salvador since the civil war in the 80s.
Visit and work in the cooperatives called El Pueblo de Dios en el Camino and the Martin Baro cooperative--here we will be working with Salvadorans to learn about daily Salvadoran life
Visit an orphanage called COAR, which houses orphans affected by poverty and migration
Paint classrooms in a nursery school, Centro Hogar
Work in a Soy Cooperative which hands out soy milk to poor children in the town of San Ramon
and finally, we will be doing home stays in a town called Arcatao, where we will be living with campasinos and gaining a sense of Salvadoran reality
During the entire project we will be learning about the rich culture and history of the country of El Salvador, especially the Civil War and its major players--Oscar Romero and the martyred Jesuits.

Of course, an immersion project like this costs money. The cost of the entire project is $1500. My team and I have been fundraising around Fordham's campus and we will continue to do so until the trip. However! I am responsible for the majority of the cost.
That is where you lovely people come in! I would appreciate it oh so so so so so much if you could donate any possible amount of

Here's some more info about the program:
Global Outreach (GO!) is a student run program that facilitates service and learning immersion experiences in foreign countries as well as other states in the US. GO! provides students the opportunity to expand their global perspectives by exploring economic, social, political, and environmental injustices. GO! participants work to increase solidarity between Fordham, its students, and our partnering communities.

GO! participants seek to gain a deeper understanding of the Jesuit philosophy of cura personalis, the formation of the whole person to become knowledgeable and active citizens aspiring to work for the common good and greater social equality.
