BENEFITING: International Rescue Committee
ORGANIZER: International Rescue Committee
EVENT: Aleppo Relief Fund
To follow up on my recent post about helping those in Aleppo, I want to put into action a chain reaction. I have donated to the International Rescue Committee to help provide emergency aid in Aleppo - food, water, blankets, etc. I want to challenge 3 (or more!) of my friends to also donate. (Note: The minimum online payment is $10) - It doesn't matter how much you give, but that you give whatever amount you are able. Let's join together to make a difference.
Original Post (on Facebook) in response to a video about the crisis in Aleppo:
My heart breaks at the contrast between the reality in Aleppo and my reality day to day... But you guys, it's one reality. This is happening in the same world. While we sip our morning coffee, watch Fixer Upper, & discuss our weekend plans... this is happening in Aleppo. Do not feel guilty because of the hand you were dealt in comparison to the suffering so many are experiencing. Do not waste your comfort. Use it for the greater good. We have resources to share. We have hearts that must break. We have to do our part in this. Donate, pray, and cry out to God on behalf of these people, these children. Take a look within yourself and ask yourself, "What part can I play with the resources I have?" Maybe you will go overseas to help with the aid of refugees, maybe you'll gather your children around the dinner table to pray, maybe you'll donate to a credible organization. Whatever you can do, it's important that you do it. You truly can make a difference.
