Indy Neighborhood Cats is an all-volunteer Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) 501c3 nonprofit organization located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our organization began in 2019 with the mission of improving the lives of unowned neighborhood cats and reducing overpopulation by providing Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) support.
This segment of the cat population produces 80% of the kittens born each year and is the greatest source of cat overpopulation. The unowned cat population must be addressed more aggressively in a community-wide fashion. As the only Indianapolis TNR organization based solely in our neighborhoods, we seek to develop strategic partnerships with animal welfare organizations, local low-cost spay neuter clinics and govt agencies in an effort to end the cat overpopulation crisis. Effective policies, increased caretaker resources, education and funding must align with these facts or they will continue to be a significant source of shelter admission and suffering.
We believe that all community cats deserve care, compassion and protection for their entire lives. As such, we seek to improve their quality of life through humane education, advocacy and outreach.
