In December the 37th Judicial Court made an official appeal to our little CASA program: "Get us more CASAs." Yes! We can do that. But first we have to get new training materials.
We've been copying old manuals from 2007, but National CASA just came out with a new course, a "pay per student" system, and we're expected to upgrade. (It's kindof a good thing too—the world's a-changin.)
WE GOT GOOD PEEPS:
To train and supervise our new crowd of volunteer advocates, we hired a child therapist who has worked with West Plains foster kids for over 30 years. She joined our team January 1st and is AMAZING. People have been jumping on the band-wagon left and right, and we're so excited that she's inspiring their service!
GOOD TRAINING = GOOD SERVICE
Now we need help buying the new training materials for our incoming force of volunteer advocates who will each take on just one case to make a huge difference for the foster child, and for the foster care system as a whole.
We have until February 29th to raise $1,200 for updated materials for our next 5-week class. The cost of materials for one trainee is $100. We're hoping for 12 in our next class, but would be so happy to be able to train even more if we raise more than $1,200 by February 29th.
Can you help us get there?
