BENEFITING: Chicago HOPES for Kids
EVENT DATE: Oct 09, 2016
Chicago HOPES for Kids invites individuals to run the 2016 Bank of America Chicago Marathon in honor of our amazing students by joining the Hustle for HOPES team!
Over 20,000 Chicago Public School students identify as homeless. These students often struggle to keep up with schoolwork, losing up to half a year of learning time with each move they make. Chicago HOPES for Kids works in homeless shelters across the city to make up for this gap in learning by matching students with tutors for targeted reading and homework support. We also provide science and arts enrichment programs for these students, who often don’t have access to the outside activities that their peers do. You can find out more about Chicago HOPES on our website: www.chicagohopesforkids.org.
As a part of the Hustle for HOPES team, runners will not only work to achieve a personal goal, but they will also have the opportunity to make significant difference in the lives of homeless children throughout Chicago. By joining the team, runners commit to fundraising a minimum of $1,000 for Chicago HOPES for Kids. These fundswill be exclusively used to provide educational support and materials for our students. In exchange, runners receive a variety of team benefits and the necessary training and support to ensure they are able to meet their goals!
