Almost to goal!!!

No child should ever have to carry their belongings in a trash bag.
That's why 15 year-old Hunter Beaton is on a mission to make sure this stops. Hunter's three siblings, who came from foster care, all entered his home with trash bags. This, coupled with a challenge by his Eagle Scout troop to create a program that served his community, led him to start collecting duffle bags and donations for every foster child in his county. In one weekend he raised over $10,000! But Hunter hasn't stopped! He continues to visit every county child welfare board in his area and has gained support to not only budget for the bags but to sustain that budget each year. Best of all, he traveled to Austin to present to the executive committee on stopping black trash bags and adopting his program statewide. He received unanimous support and endorsement for the statewide roll-out of the bags. Each bag also includes One Simple Wish information so that all kids will know that the support doesn't end with the bag! So far over 6,000 bags have been purchased and 17,000 more are in the works for 2017! Now that Hunter has partnered with One Simple Wish, he wants to take this initiative nationwide and provide a realistic, cost-effective and sustainable solution to the trash bag epidemic.
$1500 will help us begin this journey! The amount allows Hunter to not only purchase many great bags, but to take advantage of wholesale to surplus prices, no shipping costs and to provide many state agencies with the bags for their use. So get on board with Hunter's Mission today and let's eliminate trash bags as luggage and provide the comfort, dignity and love everyone deserves!
