At any given time in the United States or around the world, there is a disaster or situation which requires the help of the United States Government (USG) to provide humanitarian relief by means of airlift and due to the changing climate, that need is expected to grow. It is usually the United States Air Force (USAF) which takes a leading role in this effort due to the fact that they have the airlift assets most needed.
We have recognized a need and opportunity to improve this effort and wish to propose the following solution.
Humanitarian Air Logistics (HAL) will develop and operate a not-for-profit air logistics organization dedicated to providing humanitarian and disaster airlift services worldwide. We envision HAL to become a first responder in national or global emergencies where airlift support is needed. This will free up the U.S. military from needing to mobilize its own resources in the initial stages and in some instances, maybe not at all.
With the worldwide increase of disasters and now the COVID-19 pandemic, the citizens of this planet are faced with risks they never expected to deal with. To prevent, fight, and survive these disastrous events, we need to have logistical support in place. Just what does that mean? It means flying food, water, medical supplies like masks, gloves, gowns and even medicine to the needed hospitals in hours and not the weeks it takes by other means - like container ships.
Saving time means saving lives, maybe yours or a loved one.
The recent past has shown that often it is the U.S. military chiefly the U.S. Air Force that provides the largest dedicated airlift support in disasters. However, as the current Secretary of Defense Mark Esper recently stated, we should not rely on them any longer, indeed they are the logistical support of “last resort”.
This is why we created Humanitarian Air Logistics, Inc. otherwise known as Helpbyair.org. We are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization based in California that will provide dedicated first responder airlift irrespective of what the Pentagon will or won’t do. Our organization is to be made up of aviation professionals who know how to safely and effectively operate the large cargo and passenger aircraft needed to provide this rapid response. We will use those aircraft to immediately transport first responders to the disaster site in hours and not days as has been the situation with the military.
Because of our size in comparison to the military, we will be nimble and thus able to act quickly. It will be a win-win for all the stakeholders.
What we need from you
We need two very important items from you:
1. The first and foremost is a donation of $10, $20, $50 or whatever you can afford so we can obtain our first aircraft and begin our government certification process.
2. The second important item is to share this project with your friends, family and online followers. We need to get this message out worldwide.
