BENEFITING: Sunflower Of Peace
For the past year, our Sunflower of Peace teams in New Hampshire and Boston have collected clothes, outerwear, shoes, toys, blankets and medical aid that will be distributed to families of fallen heroes, three orphanages and one local hospital.
With your help and care, we were able to collect 100 boxes of humanitarian aid that will be given to people in need. The cost of half of a 40-foot container is $1,200 and so far, we have raised $500. We are asking you to help us to raise the rest by November 25th.
We are also in need of baby food, formula or diapers for babies of any size. A local Whole Foods Market and Trader Joe's are graciously donating some baby food; however, we would still like to ship more. If you would like to help, you can bring these items to Christ the King Catholic Church on November 25th or donate any amount, writing a message requesting your donations be spent on certain items. The average price of diapers is $20-25 and baby food in 10 packs is $12.
If you cannot donate, but would like to be a part of this fundraiser, we are looking for 15 volunteers who can help us count every item and write it down on our invoice in order to clear all the boxes at customs once it arrives at the Odessa port. The counting location will be in Jamaica Plain on the premises of the Ukrainian Catholic Church on the 25th of November, from 10:30 to 1 pm.
No amount is too small! And smaller gifts can add up for a big impact! We thank you for your big hearts, continuous support and willingness to make to world a better place.
