EVENT: Saving Pets Challenge 2016
My name is Penelope. My first home was with my momma and my 5 other siblings. It wasn't a good home, but it was our home. The humans tried... but they got overwhelmed and couldn't care for us. So she surrendered us to the local shelter which was the Humane Society of Charles County.
I was just a baby, and wasn't too frightened, because all my siblings were with me, but my momma was taken back to our first house. That made me scared! But then some lady came and took all of us to her house. She was called a "foster." I liked the foster home. We got baths, we got warm blankets, the fleas stopped biting us, we started feeling better and not itchy.
This is what our shelter did for us.... they made us feel better! To do that, I hear they always need funds. We needed medical attention, vaccines (OUCH!), and de-wormer (shutter to think). All of this costs money, the food, the shelter, everything... and what's really sad, is that there are always new pets taking the place of the pets that are being adopted.
Can you help? Will you help? We need your help?
PS -- I'm safe and loved in my new home.
PSS -- I got to stay at my foster momma's house and she adopted me! Now I have a huge big brother, and he was also adopted. He loves me, specially when I bite hit tail!
