December 09, 2016
As we move into 2017, the challenges are great but our platform is growing stronger and is ready to face these challenges head on. We typically do not run an end of the year campaign but rather use the Giving Tuesday platform to do this. It prepares us to raise money and allows us time to plan for the future. Our focus this year is on funding our AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM. This is the constant touch point program that we offer that brings so many benefits to children as they develop.
By giving to this campaign you are ensuring that children in Rwanda under our support will be able to attend our after school program for 4 days a week. Currently, we have enough financial support to operate 2 days per week. By doubling the number of days children can be in our learning center, engaging in supplemental curriculum, this keeps them in a positive environment and with mentors more regularly! They will also be healthier because we feed them during each session they attend. Healthier children result in better attendance in school and proper brain development as they grow. Finally they will be able to have the emotional and psychosocial support they need from positive mentors who see them regularly. This love and support will build confidence and shape these young children into thriving adults.
Help us change the narrative of poverty of children in Rwanda by supporting this end of the year campaign. Our team could not do it without this support! Thank you!
About Hope Shines:
Hope Shines is a supplemental education and health resource that improves the lives of vulnerable children in Rwanda. 2016 was a year of success and challenges no doubt. We enrolled new children in our programs, opened a new learning center, further developed our programs, expanded staff, created stronger measuring tools to better show our impact, and brought HOPE and LOVE back into children's lives that need it most! Help us grow by expanding our impact with struggling youth and families in Rwanda! Any donation is appreciated!
