Every day 43 parents hear the words "your child has cancer".
Meet Camila and Ruben, two outgoing, strong and loving kids…and both are cancer survivors. Camila and Ruben were diagnosed at a very early age and have spent most of their young lives, in and out of the hospital and at the doctor’s office. They’ve gone through a very difficult time and their families have suffered emotionally and struggled financially.
Today Camila and Ruben are both 7 years old and have overcome their battle with cancer. (To hear Camila and Ruben's story watch our video).
But many more still need our help.
More than 40,000 children undergo treatment for cancer each year.
Families need emotional and financial support while their child is on treatment and after! PADRES Contra El Cáncer (PADRES) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to “Improve the quality of life for children with cancer and their families.” PADRES offers emotional and financial support programs and services to childhood cancer patients from initial diagnosis to survivorship. Membership is for life and all programs and services are free.
This holiday season help us give HOPE
Your donation will go towards providing childhood cancer patients and their families with support programs and services that include:
- Case managers who help families navigate through our complex healthcare system and are there to listen and provide HOPE
- Transportation to clinic appointments
- Daily living support for economically disadvantaged families – i.e. groceries, child care, phone cards etc.
Where there is life, there is always HOPE!
