Hope for Charlie

Charlie and Mom are doing well!
December 12, 2016
Event Name: Live Nation - Taking Care of Our Own
Charlie was born on November 4, 2016, a week past his due date. Bryan and Jenny were so excited to welcome their 9th precious gift from God. After 8 deliveries, both Bryan and Jenny were “pros”, not much phased them. This was not going to be a routine birth, however, things were not going well for Charlie. Almost immediately after their initial assessment, the doctors noticed that Charlie was in distress. Charlie was deliver via emergency C-section and since then, he has been fighting for his life. Charlie was born with Meconium Aspiration Syndrome. His sensitive lungs and his gastrointestinal system have been scarred by the exposure to the Meconium and the very functions that we don’t consider to be an issue for newborns, have been a monumental challenge for Charlie. The first few hours of Charlie’s life were grave and the prognosis was grim; not many expected him to live through the night. However, through the grace of God and the herculean efforts of his doctors, Charlie stabilized and was transported to Children’s Hospital in Fairfax. Charlie is a fighter. He has been making wonderful progress since his birth. Their community of friends and family have rallied around the family to make it possible for Bryan and Jenny go to the hospital every day to see their precious baby. Hopefully, with the progress Charlie is making they can bring their little boy home soon to meet the rest of the family! As stressful as it is to have a new baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Bryan and Jenny are getting ready to face a very large medical bill. The costs are significant. In addition to the NICU costs (which can be over $250,000 per month), they are facing costs associated with the emergency C-section, the extraordinary efforts that doctors performed to stabilize Charlie in the first few hours of his life, and the emergency medical transport to Fairfax. While Bryan and Jenny have insurance, it is not enough to cover 100% of the costs associated with Charlie’s birth and they are estimating that they will be looking at approximately $35,000 in medical bills. No parent should have to be concerned with the financial burden of critical lifesaving intervention during the first days, weeks, or months of their infant’s life. To alleviate this stress, we’re creating “Hope for Charlie” to help offset or eliminate any out of pocket, neonatal intensive care costs incurred by Bryan and Jenny. It would take a mountain of stress off Bryan and Jenny if you could help us cover their portion of the medical bills. Any amount will be very much appreciated. By donating to “Hope for Charlie” you can make this a Holiday season to remember for the Hall family. While financial donations are the primary goal of the “Hope for Charlie” campaign, we also want you to take time out of your day to offer up prayers for the entire Hall family and the team of doctors treating Charlie; your spiritual support is needed to keep his miraculous recovery on track.
