BENEFITING: HUGH OBRIAN YOUTH LEADERSHIP
For over five decades, Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) has inspired young people to make a difference and become catalysts for positive change in their home, school, workplace, and community. As America’s foremost youth leadership organization, HOBY has a long and impressive history of successfully motivating youth and volunteers to outstanding leadership.
HOBY aims to inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service, and innovation.
HOBY Ohio South serves the high schools in central Ohio, as well as in the southeast quarter of the state. Each year, HOBY does a service project benefiting a different nonprofit or charity group in need. For the past several years, we’ve done the project on site at Denison University. This year, we have been challenged to expand the project in order to allow our nearly 200 sophomores to interact 1-on-1 with the individuals they’re serving.
To that end, Goodwill Columbus is willing to host us during an annual event for adults with developmental disabilities. Our students will have the opportunity to work with the adults that Goodwill serves directly, as they help facilitate a hands-on learning and recreational day of activities that is sure to have a meaningful impact on both those served and our students.
We’re very excited about this project, but it comes at a greater expense than our normal program. We need to raise additional funds by Saturday, April 5 in order to fund safe transportation for our students and staff from Denison to Goodwill’s Grandview facility.
Will you help us send HOBY Ambassadors to Goodwill Columbus this May?
*** Please note: if our fundraising goal is not reached by Saturday, April 5, donations received will be used to fund the general programming of the 2014 HOBY Ohio South seminar. Thank you for your generosity! ***
