I served in the Texas and Arizona Army National Guard from 1988-2009 with one Homeland Defense and one Iraq deployment. I currently work as a Geographic Information Systems Analyst with a commercial real estate company. Through my service years I have known five soldiers that have taken their own lives and believe that is crucial to spread awareness about this awful epidemic. I have great admiration for those support counselors that spend great amounts of time and energy helping those individuals at high risk of suicide. By donating to EMPACT-Suicide Prevention Center you help these awesome individuals gather more resources to prevent suicide amongst veterans. This will be the third year I am involved in this hike and the experience is heartwarming. Through this journey I have met many wonderful people and have shaken more passerbies’ hands that I can count! Let’s bring our hearts together and help this organization bring this epidemic to 0 a day!
