A few more hikes

EVENT: Hike 40
HOURS PLEDGED: 55

We need people to advocate for America's hiking trails! But it's a hard and thankless job- especially if you are a hiker. Instead of spending time in the wilderness, the American Hiking Society staff has to spend much of their time in offices and meetings- making phone calls (lots of phone calls), lobbying for legislation and meeting with politicians. And they're located in Silver Spring, MD, so they also have to deal with DC traffic... DC traffic, people!
For 40 years, the American Hiking Society has been the national voice for hikers who want to shape public policy and legislation affecting our country's trails. Their efforts ensure funding for our footpaths, for the preservation of natural areas, and for the protection of our overall wilderness experience.
I want to do everything I can to support the American Hiking Society. So this year I'm pledging to participate in the AHS Trail Advocacy Program with the goal of completing 40 unique hikes.
Joining the Hike 40 campaign is a fun and easy way to get outside and to advocate for what we hold so dear. All donations go directly to AHS so please consider giving 10 cents, one dollar, or ten dollars per hike. Every penny counts!
Thanks and Happy Trails,
Jennifer Pharr Davis
