Run As One Hawaii Final Update!
April 13, 2016
In honor of Marine veteran Clay Hunt, an original member of Team Rubicon who took his own life after battling PTS and depression, Team Rubicon, Team Red White and Blue, and The Mission Continues will partner to participate in the 5th annual Run as One on April 16th. The event will as serve a celebration of a networks required to empower, unite and enrich the lives of Veterans. It will also be a symbol of leadership, action, and collaboration across the veterans support landscape within our local communities.
The fifth annual Run As One is almost upon us! Please join Team Rubicon, Team Red, White, & Blue, and The Mission Continues on April 16, 2016 at Bellows AFS to honor the memory of Marine veteran Clay Hunt - an original member of Team Rubicon and a Mission Continues fellow - who we lost too soon.
Parking: Park at the Makai Parking Lot close to Pavilion B. If that lot is full, Bldg. 220 Parking further down Tinker Rd. on the right is available. We will be meeting at Pavilion B on Bellows (see attached map) to check-in. Please allow enough time to get checked in prior to the 0900 opening remarks, as we are expecting over 100 participants.
This event is open to all, so please bring a friend. Joining us in support of Run As One will be Wounded Warrior Project, US Vet Center, USO, and the University of Hawaii's Student Veteran's Association. There will also be plenty of fun things for the keiki to do after the run!
Since this event is on a military base, access is restricted. Don't worry though! If you don't have base access, you have two options: 1.) Park off base on the public beach side of Bellows and someone with access will pick you up, just email firstname.lastname@example.org if you need help with this, or 2.) Carpool with someone who has base access to get to the event.
If you feel the urge to carry the Stars & Stripes during the event, feel free to fly the flag with pride!
