I was in a horrible car accident. PTSD has made my life almost unbearable if I have to leave my home. There are other issues I need addressed. It would be a DREAM COME TRUE to spend 90 days that could change my life at a center that is set up and experienced in helping women like me. I don't know where else to turn. I have no insurance and since the car accident I am 'stuck'.

Dear Christine,

Thank you for requesting information on Brookhaven Retreat via our website.

I have included an overview of the program and the fees below for your review.   Please let me know that you have received my email and our brochure.   I would  be happy to answer any further questions at 865-337-0640 my cell phone.  Please do not hesitate to contact me anytime.  Please review the following information below:

We are located in beautiful East Tennessee.   We specialize in the treatment of women with emotional and mental health issues, as well as co-occurring substance abuse issues.   Our areas of greatest expertise include:

            Complex Grief/Loss

            Complex Trauma

            Borderline Personality Disorder

            Bipolar Disorder/ AD

            Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

We often find the clients who arrive at Brookhaven Retreat have typically been treated elsewhere without success, and most are simply too complex to initially recover in an outpatient setting. Residential treatment is necessary to stabilize and begin the process of uncovering the damaging "fuel" that continues to ignite depression, anxiety, substance abuse etc. You see, these are simply outward manifestations of a deeper, inner emotional fracture. Until we uncover the emotional breakage and seek to treat the source, the symptoms will resurface over and over again. Brookhaven Retreat is truly a haven for broken women. We seek to rebuild their confidence in themselves, and empower them to know their own truth and put away the secrets and lies that have kept them sick.

Our program is like none other. We utilize multiple therapies, and a holistic approach to help women reach within and identify core issues. Nutrition, spirituality and recreational therapy components allow our clients to express themselves, even when words can be difficult to find.  This is especially true with art therapy. Sometimes, what comes from our hands is very different than what comes out of our mouths. Our art therapist is wonderful, and is very skilled in assisting our clients in processing. We also offer equine assisted therapy. This therapy utilizes horses as a mirroring tool of human body language and emotion. Again, a therapist is present to process this in relation to issues the client may have in her own relationships. Of course we also have "talk therapy" as well. Our clients meet with their primary therapist and "core group" of ladies (which consists of the therapist and usually 5 other ladies) twice daily. These groups are very process oriented.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is the foundation of our program along with Motivational Enhancement Techniques. Using these techniques, clients learn to "retool" their minds allowing them to live in the moment and move forward with emotional regulation.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is another tool we utilize for those clients who have experienced trauma. This tool has proven helpful in the treatment of soldiers returning from war with PTSD. It is also supported by the American Psychiatric Association. This therapy, when deemed necessary, is not used until a client has entered her second month at Brookhaven.

Brookhaven Retreat seeks to not only assist women in getting well, but desires to give them the tools to stay well. Getting well is hard, but staying well is even harder. It takes a specific skill set to navigate through life with emotional regulation. Our program teaches that skill set. Each individual woman creates her own life plan for how she intends to address core issues once she leaves the safety of Brookhaven Retreat. This is largely processed in our PONCHO program which is a "Life Reconstruction" program covering 30 elements of life, and begins once a client completes her first month at Brookhaven.

The minimum stay at Brookhaven Retreat is 30 days at $49,000.00. Our Lily Program in its entirety is a 90-day program. The cost for the 90-day program is $147,000.00.  I would be happy to discuss how Brookhaven Retreat's program may best assist you. Please feel free to contact me on my cell phone any time at 865-337-0640.   I have attached a brochure for your review as well.

Warm Regards,
