Help Marcus to Walk again!
Organized by: tami esson
For any of you who don't know Marcus, he is 43 years old, was a personal trainer at NYU, and an NYU graduate. He is extremely bright and compassionate and works with all his clients to help them to stay fit and healthy. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to Marcus, he suffered from diabetes 1. He had a diabetic seizure and woke up with his entire body paralyzed. He was in the NICU for weeks and now has spent several months in a long term medical facility. He was working as a freelance trainer so he had no health insurance. After months of medical bills he has spent all of his savings. He has little family to help and is single. He has since been evicted from his building since he could not pay his bills, and is essentially homeless (once he is forced to leave the facility). He used his last bit of savings to pay for physical therapy so that he could learn to speak again, however, he has no more money to afford physical therapy in order to regain use of his legs. If you knew Marcus you would know that he is the most fit man in town. He eats healthy, works out all day long with his clients, and is very dedicated to people's health. I know that because I was fortunate enough to work with Marcus and he helped me immeasurably. Not having the money to afford the medical help he needs to learn how to walk again is heart wrenching, let alone being homeless, in the short term future. I am trying to raise money to help Marcus so that he can re-learn to walk again and to help him pay his medical and related expenses. Anything you can give- be it $5 or $50 or more would be amazing. Please pay what you can- I will of course update this site as he makes progress. Your help can actually make a big difference in an amazing person's life!
