BENEFITING: MCLEAN BIBLE CHURCH
EVENT DATE: Jul 19, 2014
We are extremely excited to share with you about a wonderful opportunity we have to travel abroad this summer to the Dominican Republic. Did you know that more than one-half of the world's people live below the internationally defined poverty line of less than $2 a day? In the Dominican Republic alone, The World Bank estimates that 45% of the total population lives on or below the national poverty line! During this trip, we will have the opportunity to serve and minister to some of the neediest people of the Dominican Republic. We are writing to ask you for your prayers and support for this trip.
We feel blessed to have the opportunity to go on this trip and we feel that God has called us to share His wonderful message with others. We are both part of a team of more than 130 people from McLean Bible Church who will depart on July 19th for the 7 day trip. We will be doing a variety of things from construction to inner city outreach. However, our biggest project will be working with children and families at Emanuel House, an educational and feeding center that cares for about 80 needy children in the city of Quisqueya. Our hope and prayer is to care, love, and train these families to address both their physical and spiritual needs. This is Chloe's third year going to the Dominican Republic and she is extremely excited for Charlotte to join her this year. This trip over the past two years has made an amazing impact on Chloe's life and she has grown closer to the Lord because of it. This will be Charlotte's first missions trip and she is looking forward to helping kids in the Dominican Republic while also praying that God to use the experience to help transform her own life.
In preparing for this trip, between the two of us, we have been asked to raise $3,400 for travel costs, lodging, food, transportation, insurance and ministry supplies on the ground for the week we are there. We feel both humbled and blessed to know how God has supported this mission in years past, and we ask that you would pray for its success this year. In addition, we ask you would pray for us as we prepare to go to the Dominican Republic and pray that we can be a blessing to those in need while we are there.
