BENEFITING: Humane Society for Hamilton County
As many of you know, Buster is a much loved shelter dog who has been in and out of the Humane Society for Hamilton County for the past 3 years.
While Buster is "98%" perfect - the 2% keeps getting him returned. Buster was abused as a puppy, and we think that is part of the reason he is so protective of his person. Buster has been adopted and returned 4 times now due to protective issues in his home.
While we no longer feel it is the right thing to do to try and find him adopters through the shelter, Buster is too smart, too loving...and too deserving to let go. Our Executive Director has reached out to an amazing rescue organization, Guardians of Rescue, has found a trainer who is willing to take Buster into her home and work with him on his behavior issues.
This trainer was an MP in the Army for 10 years and has worked with dogs most of her life. She has worked with military/police dogs and specializes in dogs that shelters or rescues have deemed unadoptable for behavior reasons. She has also started her own version of Pets Healing Vets since she herself suffered from PTSD when she left the military. She feels Buster could be an ideal candidate for a veteran who needs that protective dog. She also has other programs that she has placed dogs like Buster into.
Her home is in Wisconsin, and we have tentatively scheduled a transport for Saturday, August 30th. One of our shelter employees (and one of Buster's shelter babes) will be driving Buster from Indiana to Wisconsin. The rescue asks for a fee of $1,000 to take Buster in - and that's where you come in.
Can you help us raise the funds needed to FINALLY give Buster the happy ending he so deserves? Please share...this truly is Buster's last and BEST chance at a happy life.
