BENEFITING: I HEART DOGS RESCUE AND ANIMAL HAVEN
We received a call about an injured dog stumbling around on the property of a business on 8 Mile. When we found the dog, he was a sweet youngster hiding in the shrubs clearly fearful and looking defeated. We were able to lure him out with food and water and discovered his horrific injury to his back leg that was swollen and dangling as though it were barely connected to his hip. To make matters worse, he was so skinny and dehydrated. He looked as though he had been fending for himself for a long time trying to find food and water. We are sure this injury was the last blow and he decided to hide himself in the shrubs so that he could give up on life and let go for good. Well, we didn't let him go that quickly! We were there to save him! We named him Grinder after the place he was found, and took him to the hospital where we learned that his pelvis is badly broken and will require surgery, with the risk of amputating his back leg. Grinder is currently on stand-by for an opening in the operating schedule which gives us some time to raise the estimated $2,500 needed to repair his hip and his long road to recovery. Being a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, we operate strictly on donations and our funds are dangerously low. We want so badly to ensure Grinder gets all the care he needs, but we need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation of any amount that you can afford to save Grinder. Thank you.
