Help Delegate Laura Sabransky Serve @Democratic Convention
Organized by: Laura Sabransky
THANK YOU to ALL MY 50 DONORS!!!
September 16, 2016
I am an elected delegate pledged to Bernie Sanders, representing Chicago's 5th District. Three years ago, I realized Bernie Sanders was the ONLY federal lawmaker fighting for us - ALL of us. I constantly posted on his page "Please run for President, Bernie!" Bernie has been fighting for us for decades and I vow to fight for him at Democratic Convention. Convention costs Illinois delegates thousands of dollars to attend. Anything you contribute to my travel fund will help me get to convention with less financial burden & stress.
Since Spring 2015, I have volunteered hundreds of hours as the Illinois Women for Bernie FB page admin, and hosting, organizing and attending 30 Bernie events, including 80 Chicagoans traveling to Iowa caucus weekend to canvass voters. One of the Chicago canvassers sent me this kind remark afterwards: “Watching you in action was, frankly, incredible.”
I have worked for non-profits my entire career and am also a trained social justice organizer, with 10 years experience volunteer organizing and activism for reproductive and environmental/climate justice, and gun violence prevention.
Bernie’s campaign – for me – is fundamentally about repairing the social fabric among U.S. residents. It is about the recognition that the MARGINALIZED are now the MAJORITY. That we must focus on what NEEDS to be done, instead of settling for anything less than becoming a leader in creating a just transition from toxic fossil fuels to sustainable energy, as well as enact public-funded elections.
I have had the great fortune and honor of meeting many other Bernie supporters throughout this year – many who have never been involved politically, some who had never voted. We all must continue the movement Bernie has sparked. Thank you for your moral support and I am truly grateful for your financial assistance. I will be thinking of you, as we delegates make history at the 2016 convention!
