Grow It Green's produce delivery truck has died! Help us buy a new-to-us truck so that our produce deliveries can continue this season!
Many of you have probably seen our beloved Grow It Green Morristown truck around town. We bought this trusty 1998 Ford Ranger used in 2012, and it has allowed us to deliver our produce donations to our local soup kitchen and food pantry partners (including Table of Hope, Interfaith Food Pantry and the Community Soup Kitchen of Morristown) for the past four years. In 2015 alone, this truck delivered over 2 TONS of fresh, local, nutritious produce to these local organizations and others. In addition, it has helped us pick up flats of plants, hay bales, cart items to events and allow our farmers to travel from school-to-school providing gardening education to children in the Morris School District, the Morristown Neighborhood House and more.
Unfortunately, earlier this week, our truck's transmission died! The cost of repairs will be nearly what the truck cost us originally, therefore we are in the market for a new truck ASAP. This comes at a crucial time when we are gearing up for the busy growing and donation season.
We are asking for your support in raising funds to buy a "new-to-us" truck. Nothing fancy, but enough to get our fresh produce delivered to those in need in our community. It doesn't get any more nutritious than when it's picked and reaches the plates of those who need it in the same day!
If everyone in our community donates just $10, we'll be able to continue providing these groups and local families with nutritious fresh produce. We sincerely appreciate your support!
