BENEFITING: POSTPARTUM PROGRESS
EVENT DATE: Jun 18, 2016
Hello and thank you for visiting!
After the birth of my second child in December 2014, I began to suffer tremendous heart pounding insomnia beginning at 4 weeks postpartum. My condition quickly spiraled into severe anxiety and waves of depression. I was diagnosed with a postpartum mood disorder: Postpartum Anxiety and Depression. I was caught completely off guard; I had never suffered a mental health condition before in my life.
I am now 15 months postpartum and I am slowly finding my way to recovery. I am participating in Climb Out of the Darkness to help spread as much love, knowledge, and power to all women and families out there who are suffering or who have suffered from a maternal mental health condition. I never thought recovery would be possible, and although I am still working on it, I am well on my way. Postpartum Progress continues to support me and my family, and countless others, as we navigate this challenging path. Please consider donating to help Postpartum Progress continue its mission.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Climb Out of the Darkness® is the world’s largest event raising funds for awareness of postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety and all other mental illnesses related to pregnancy and childbirth. 1 in 7 women each year will experience maternal mental illness. Help Postpartum Progress® shine a light on the most common complication of childbirth. We hope you’ll join or support our local Climb.
