Hearing Our Child for the First Time.
Organized by: Joseph Brannon
My wife was born with Treacher Collins Syndrome, which left her deaf in both ears. A few years ago she was fortunate enough to receive cochlear implants, and she heard from both sides for the first time. However, over the last year or so, her left processor has gradually stopped working. A couple weeks ago, we received the surprising but happy news we are going to have our first child, and I want more than anything for Kristen to hear our child fully from its first cries and for the subsequent years ahead. For this to happen, she will need this processor, which insurance does not cover. We are a humble older couple who work hard to make ends meet, we take life one day at a time and hope for the best. We are fortunate to have the love and support of family and friends, and we are truly blessed. But we need your help for this very important and beautiful life event. We appreciate you've chosen to read our story this far, and humbly ask for any assistance you can give so that we can fully experience those first sounds of childbirth and beyond. Thank you, and God Bless. Joseph, Kristen, and our little one.
