BENEFITING: HARTFORD COMMUNITIES THAT CARE INC
Since 2005, The Hartford Crisis Response Team (HCRT) has provided 24/7/ 365 days per year support and services to individuals and families during times of crisis. Unlike traditional crisis response teams, the HCRT was created to respond and support victims of violent crime and to make sure they get connected to trauma specialist and grief counselor. Unfortunately, in urban areas these types of services are rarely supported through traditional means of funding and far too many violent crime victims go without mental health and trauma supports after being victimized. Though we received nominal funding from the State of Connecticut during the 2013-14 fiscal year, these funds were cut the following year due to funding limitations. To continue this service, $65,000 will enable the HCRT to provide 24/7/365 days of on-call crisis response and trauma supports for crime victims and their families. We need your help and hope you can assist!
