BENEFITING: Harlem United Community AIDS Center, Inc.
ORGANIZER: Harlem United Community AIDS Center, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Nov 03, 2013
Well, I did it! And it only took me 5:39:14(lol)! I am proud to say I finished all in one piece and that it was super fun!
Didn't get a chance to donate, yet? No worries! It's not too late.
As you know, I ran for a great cause: Harlem United - a community-based health center and AIDS-service organization that happens to be where I work. With a social justice philosophy, Harlem United provides housing, medical care and HIV prevention programming for thousands of people every year. I work to mobilize communities to affect legislative change, secure funding for services and generally raise awareness of the HIV epidemic and related social justice and health issues. It is good work and you can support it as well as all the other great work of the agency by supporting me in this year's marathon. Check us out online at www.harlemunited.org.
Consider donating whatever amount you can: $25, $50 or even $100. Every bit will help!
Thanks so much for your support!
Harlem United Community AIDS Center, Inc.
Everyday here at Harlem United we, as an organization and as individuals, reflect on how to simultaneously prevent more people from becoming infected with HIV and meet the needs of people living with HIV/AIDS.
Located in the heart of Harlem and minutes away from its most iconic landmark, the Apollo Theater, Harlem United has formed “Team Harlem United” to help address these concerns. The funds raised will support our work as a leading AIDS Service Organization in New York City, providing access to quality healthcare, HIV prevention, housing and care services to Harlem’s diverse community.
Made up of staff, friends and dedicated individuals from the community, Team Harlem United commits to Harlem United’s goal to provide education, prevention of HIV/AIDS and comprehensive support services for individuals affected by the disease.
