The Happy Feet Youth Project was created by Siviwe Mbinda in 2007 in the Langa Township in Cape Town, South Africa. We visited Happy Feet in August 2015 and fell in love with the kids and the project. Happy Feet is dedicated to providing a creative outlet for the young, impoverished youth in the Township. Every day after school, the children learn both traditional and contemporary dancing and drumming. They love participating in local dance competitions and festivals.
Happy Feet also provides the children with hot and nutritious meals twice each week. It costs only $100 a day to feed 100 children. The Happy Feet Youth Project also raises money to send children from the Langa Township to school in Cape Town. The opportunity to get a private education gives these children a future full of promise. It costs only $340 to send a child to school for one year, including uniforms, transportation and school fees.
Start 2016 by contributing to this wonderful organization. Even the smallest donation will help these kids thrive! The higher the donations, the greater number of happy feet will be dancing!
