BENEFITING: LEON COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY
EVENT DATE: Oct 22, 2017
If you've never felt the joy of seeing a scared little former stray dog wag her tail for the first time after being in your home for three months, you may not understand what a big deal it is to foster a dog. We do. Wren came to us as nearly feral stray, sick with intestinal parasites, a respiratory infection, a terrible case of heartworms, and with wounds both physical & emotional. It was a month before we could pet her, but much longer before she stopped flinching every time we moved. Eventually, she learned to relax, to wag, to play, and to enjoy life again. And she never would have made it if Amy Raddar with the Leon Co Humane Society hadn't visited that rural shelter and felt the tug of Wren's sad little eyes. Wren is now a happy, well-adjusted, loving & much-loved pet. And she pays it forward by regularly welcoming foster dogs into our home to help them on their way to "forever home" happiness. Please help us support Leon County Humane Society's mission. Wren says it is *totally* worth it.
