BENEFITING: MYTEAM TRIUMPH
Jonathan has a hope of being able to participate in endurance events on his own. The only thing holding him back? His lack of lower body muscle strength and stamina. When he was almost 2 years old, he was diagnosed with Mild Cerebral Palsy. Looking at him today, he looks like your typical boy, until you see him running with the other kids his age. He loves to be active, but tires quickly. When he was watching the beginning of the 2012 Bellin Run, he saw the Wheelchair participants. They weren't using wheelchairs, but handcycles. When he realized that, he felt that there was now a way for him to participate in those events himself instead of having someone push him. He participated in 4 events in the 2012 season with the Green Bay chapter of MyTeam Triumph, and loves the group. "Mom, if I can get this handbike and be able to do more events on my own, that can free up one of the strollers with the group, so another Captain can do the events that can't do any of it on their own. That is one way I can help MyTeam Triumph!" -Jonny age 12.
