On November 8, 2013 Typhoon Haiyan hit the central Philippines affecting the lives of over 11.8 million people across the country and leaving over 1 Million people homeless with death tolls that are estimated to reach figures over 10,000 human lives.
As seen in the video and photos to the left, where homes and businesses once stood complete destruction exist and the bodies of the deceased line the streets. Imagine losing your home, your neighborhood, your city, everything around you has been completely destroyed as far as your eyes can see and your family and friends if they survived are left absolutely homeless with nothing but the clothes on their back. No food, no water, no shelter, no electricity and nowhere to go. Night falls and you sit in darkness amongst the rubble with your remaining living family and friends and alongside you are the bodies of your deceased family, friends and neighbors, woman, men and children alike. Your heart aches, you cry and you ask yourself, why me Lord and you pray for help and answers. This is the reality of those affected by what has been declared to be the most powerful Typhoon to ever touch down on the planet Earth. Consider this very scenario and then realize it is not just a fictitious story but it is the reality of the people of the Philippines today.
I ask of you as human beings to reach into your hearts and donate today and give hope to those that have suffered this horrific tragedy.
All funds donated go directly to the Red Cross Haiyan Relief Fund. The Red Cross is currently feet on the ground providing food, water, shelter, supplies and medical care to the over 1 million victims of Typhoon Haiyan.
Additionally, I am pledging to personally give a 25% matching donation for every dollar received through this website.
Thank you ahead of time for you generosity and donations.
