Guerilla Poets are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides art, music and poetry/writing programs in shelters, centers, schools and more - from elementary kids to elderly adults.
Our mission is to provide high quality art programs, tailored to specific needs for personal growth in areas with little to no access to the arts.
When provided guided outlets to process emotions, people are able to secure a brighter future while learning creative skill sets. The arts empower, heals and educates.
Our Outreach Work Consists of:
* WRITING, POETRY, MUSIC AND ART WORKSHOPS
* FUNDRAISERS FOR ORGANIZATIONS IN NEED
* FLASH MOB POETRY
How Do The Arts Help?
* LEARN CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
* PREVENTION FOR DRUG AND VIOLENCE
* ANGER MANAGEMENT
* HEALING FROM TRAUMA
* HOW TO PLAN AND SEE A CONCEPT THROUGH TO COMPLETION
Why Flash Mob Poetry?
Guerilla Poets originally started out as a flashmob group (poetry in unexpected places) of activist poets. Since then, we have grown to providing the arts in areas that have little to no access. When operating as a poetry flash mob, it is in the hopes that it will touch the lives of those who normally wouldn’t listen to poetry. Guerilla Poets currently have 2 branches. One in the US and one in the UK.
