I had the privilege of riding with Team 2 during GTD2010. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I got involved because the curse of childhood cancer is something that my family is all too aware of – my daughter Tanya has been battling cancer for 10 years. While she is currently in remission, the disease still continues to have an effect on her and our family. Because of this, I have a very intimate knowledge and understanding of what children and their families are forced to endure while combating this disease. While I can’t take on for myself, the pain and suffering and fear that my daughter and other kids endure because of cancer, I can, through Team Will, do something to show my support and admiration for them. In other words, I’m not going to sit back and let things happen as long as I’m able to make a difference.
