I'm thrilled to take part in my fourth trip across the United States with Team Will! Although it can be a grueling journey with long, difficult rides and lack of sleep it's nothing compared to the children I meet at the hospitals who are suffering from the cancer in their bodies. Our visit usually brings smiles to their faces and a temporary diversion from their everyday struggle they experience with the complicated disease. This is the reason I ride! If I can make a difference in ONE life then I have succeeded.
Let us not forget our long-time hero William Keifer for whom all this started back in 2005 when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. His memory lives through each rider as we trek across the country to honor the brave young man who lost his battle at the young age of 17 months.
It is my hope that Team Will continues to have an impact on families during our many visits to the hospitals along the way as we "Go the Distance" in 2012!
