Our mission is to alleviate extreme poverty and meet basic needs in a sustainable manner. Our motivation is Jesus Christ’s love. As Christians we feel that it is our responsibility to reflect the love of Jesus Christ by being a blessing to people in great need. GRID – Ghana Rural Integrated Development – is a North American Christian charitable organization that enables sustainable community development in Ghana. We are a registered charitable organization in Canada and a 501(c)(3) charity in the USA. NEA – Northern Empowerment Association – is a Ghanaian Christian development organization that lives with and works among Ghana’s poor to alleviate poverty and transform communities. GRID and NEA have partnered together for 25 years. Together we enable sustainable development in marginalized Ghanaian communities. We therefore only start development initiatives that we feel have the potential to be sustainable. Sustainability is not achieved quickly or easily, but depends on commitment and hard work. We’ve learned this from experience: it took almost fifteen years for us to achieve sustainability in Janga, the first area in which we worked. Check out the web site to learn about all the sectors of this ministry and the recent campaign to build a hospital. Our History Kwabena is the story of David Mensah’s life as an African orphan and street kid who, rescued and transformed by God’s grace, has become known as a friend of the poor. You can find no better explanation of our roots and motivation than this book. Learn more about Kwabena: Newsletters You can read past newsletters.
